Neighborhood Description Part of the larger Albany Park community area, Ravenswood Manor is a neighborhood that is typically defined by its solid stock of homes, proximity to the Chicago River, and grade-level Brown Line tracks. The area, which began to develop in the early 1900s after the Northwestern Elevated Railroad’s Ravenswood Branch (now the Brown Line) was extended to the Francisco stop, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, and "features mature trees, inviting sidewalks, popular parks, and relaxing gardens.
